For the first several pages with all their piling on of misfortunes, plus bad editing ("It was seven a. m. in the morning"), I deeply regretted my 99-cent investment and almost quit reading. I'm glad I went further though, as these are five good stories, in spite of a few immoral situations although thankfully no explicit passages. There were sections of good editing in between bad, especially misplaced apostrophes, making me wonder if the editors were tag-teaming, and where I could apply for the job. To be fair, probably half of ebooks I have read were poorly edited, so these are certainly not the first.
A wonderfully clean and fun series. I loved it. The story arc was very believable. The cast of caricatures were well thought out with a realistic timeline. I loved that not all the events were in the same place. The protagonist was not whiny or wimpy and had to at times be talked in to helping find the killer. And the recipes are great will be making most of them myself soon. The baking parts were great as I am a home baker now but was a professional for 20ish years I found realism in those parts also.
This is a very enjoyable cozy mystery series with everything I like about cozy mysteries. These are engaging books with likeable interesting characters, friendship, and romance. It is clean, not graphic or scary, and very enjoyable!
I have read each of these books when they first came out. Great cozy mysteries and recipes too! I have enjoyed every adventure, or should I say mystery of each book. These are are clean mysteries without any cussing, sex or gore.
A nice little series, self contained, a beginning and an end. So nice to have an end to a series.. one that you can see and end in your mind.. a happy ever after.. good work Nancy
I enjoyed reading these books. It’s about a small town and the main character is Rachel who returns to reopen her late aunts bakery. She makes good friends and of course there is always a murder that she solves. Good reading.
This series is delightful. There s humor and suspense. The style of writing is different than some of the other cozy series'.Recommend to any friends!
So enjoyed this series. Plenty of twists and I never guessed who did it! Having the recipes was a great bonus too! Well worth your time to read.
